History of Sri Guru Hargobind Niwas, Amritsar

Shri Hargobind Sahib was the only son of Shri Arjan Sahib ji and Mata Ganga Ji. This individual had one daughter Viro Ji and five sons: Baba Gurditta Ji, Suraj Mal Ji, Ani Rai Ji, Atal Reflet Ji and (Guru) Tegh Bahadur Ji. Out of these, four sons handed away during the life of Guru Sahib and the fifth one, Shri Tegh Bahadur Ji become Ninth Nanak in 1664. He succeeded Guru Arjan Sahib ji in 1606, when justin was 14} yrs & wore two swords, one of Psychic Power – Piri and the other of {Navy} Power – Miri. {Nowadays} the Sikh became “Saint-Soldier. ” Guru Sahib granted various letters advising the Sikhs to take part in the military training and marshal arts. A Chronicler states that Shri Sahib kept seven hundred  Cavaliers and sixty artillerymen. There was a group of Pathan mercenaries and Painda Khan Pathan was performed its chief. Operating, hunting, wrestling and many others martial sports were introduced. And on the other hand the martial songs like ‘Vars’ were daily sung by the Dhadd-players in the judge} of Guru Sahib to inspire the Sikhs of heroic deeds. Abdul and Natha Mal were given the task to that end. The Guru Sahib himself was healthy and strong in mind and body. He himself mastered the employment of different tools, besides riding wrestling and hunting. He errected a wall around Amritsar city and constructed {a tiny} fortification named ‘Lohgarh’ on the out skirts of the city. Guru Sahib unveiled Sri Akal Takht Sahib also known as Nalar Bunga (Tuineless Throned) just looking at Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in 1609. This place became the seat of preaching and praying sooner or later of time. At this place, Guru Sahib used to gave sermons to the Sikhs and {conversations were|discussion posts were|talks were} held on the problems faced by the Sikh nation. In this way the Sikhs were encouraged {to stay|to be in} their own disputes themselves, some martial sports were performed in the open courtyard {prior to the|ahead of the|prior to} Akal Takht. This development further consolidated the Sikh nation.
